With his children by his side, Constantin (Bill) Nyszczuk passed away peacefully at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, August 23, 2010. He was 82.
Born in Wyosczanka, Ukraine, June 8, 1928, to parents, Paraska Nyszczuk and Steve Kalinowska, Bill eventually, settled, in Belgium, after the War. In 1957, with his wife and young children, he immigrated to Canada and settled in Kenora, Ontario.
During this time, Bill worked, at Kron's Coal, the CPR and finally, with the Boise Cascade paper mill, where he retired, in 1989. In between shift work and raising 3 children, in their home, on Main Street, Rideout, Bill attended, night school where he learned to speak and write English. He worked hard and with great pride, on October, 3, 1967 became a Canadian citizen.
A quiet and humble man, Bill rarely spoke of the adversities he was faced with in his life, but his inner strength and self-reliance made he and his family proud of his accomplishments. That quiet strength, which he taught his children and grandchildren, will be sadly missed not only for the respect that it earned him, but for the tenderness it highlighted.
His passing leaves an empty space, in the lives and hearts of his children and their spouses; son, Richard Nyszczuk (Christine) of Ardrossan, Alberta (AB) and daughters Monique Adams (Randy) of Winnipeg, Manitoba (MB)and Marie-Jeanne Bunn (David Kubisewsky) of Kenora, Ontario (ON).
Also mourning his passing are his 7 grandchildren (their spouses) and 5 great-grandchildren. Bill Turcotte of Nanaimo, B.C.; Treena Turcotte of Winnipeg, MB; Bill Nyszczuk (wife, Bobbi; children, Tristan and Peyton) of Sherwood Park, AB; Brooks Nyszczuk (wife, Carly; children, Ty and Quinn) of Ft. Saskatchewan, AB; Desiree Bunn of Winnipeg, MB.; Chantel Bunn (husband, Morgan Hyatt) of Wainfleet, ON.; and James Bunn (Belinda Chicago and daughter, Giselle) of Toronto, ON.
Bill also leaves behind his cousin Dmytro Nyszczuk of Kenora, Also, special in Bill's life, over the years, were Chris Kozak and Yvonne Rumpel of Kenora.
Bill's family would like to thank, Dr. Beveridge, for his many years of service as Bill's physician and extend a special appreciation to the emergency response team, nursing staff, the ICU, at the L.O.T.W District Hospital, the staff at Brown Funeral Home and all the family friends for their kindness and compassion.
As per Bill's wishes and desires, a cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral or memorial services. The family will be gathering privately to celebrate his life.
