November 10, 1941 to July 15, 2024
With her family by her side, Deanna Sinclair passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital at the age of 82 years.
She leaves to mourn her 4 sons Ernest (Cindy), Kenneth (Dawn), Allan (Tammy) and Ronald (Jean). Her grandchildren Brian Jr., Samantha, Robyn, Nathan and numerous nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.
Deanna was predeceased by her loving husband Brian, her parents Hugh and Rosanna MacDonald and her brothers Sandi, Hugh, Archie, Thomas, John, Malcolm and Robert (Bob) and her sisters Ruth and Belle.
Mom was born in Rainy River, Ontario on November 10, 1941. She met her loving husband, Brian, in Kenora and were married on March 7th, 1959. She loved being on Lake of the Woods in her early years with Brian, her 4 boys and close friends and had created many memories. While Dad was on the road, Mom was at home trying to keep her 4 boys in line.
Deanna, Dianne, Twink, “D” or simply Mom, she went by many different names. She liked to stay busy either by running their 2nd Hand Store, working at Perth’s Cleaners, Pinecrest or just simply playing cards or going to play Bingo. Mom also belonged to a couple of groups that she was very proud to be a part of and they were the Canadian Diesel Gypsies (CB Radio Club) and the Kenora Branch of the Canadian Legion.
Mom had a very competitive streak in her. Her family would see that side of her at any family or holiday dinner and she would demand the Rummoli game to come out and all would have to play before you could leave. Her friends would also see that side of her, whether it be playing Cribbage with her long-time partner Dwight Moore or playing Poker with Jim and Cindy Burley (lifelong friends) and the rest of the card gang.
Mom also loved road trips. Whether it would be with our father in his 18-wheeler and them sneaking away for a week or two travelling all over the U.S. or after his passing she made a couple cross Canada trips with her close friend Jack Sutherland.
Mom would go out of her way to help someone in need and would not expect anything in return other than wanting everyone to be kind to one another.
Deanna will be sadly missed by her Boys, Family and Friends.
“Twinkle Toes do you have a copy” ---"Little Cabbie, Skipper, Tucker and the Hamburger Kid will be sitting 10-10 on the side.”
The family would like to thank Buzz (Dr. Pederson) for the many years of care, compassion and laughs you gave Deanna, she always talked about you. Thank you to Dr. Brad Kyle for the care and compassion you showed her in her later years in life. Thank you to Dr. Rizk and the ICU Team for your helpfulness and compassion. And another thank you to all the 3rd floor Palliative care nurses for keeping Mom comfortable and all the kindness and support you offered the family.
Deanna will be laid to rest on August 2nd, 2024 at Lake of the Woods Cemetery and a private family service will be held at the graveside.
