Dmytro Dnes
September 17,1926 - January 23,2014
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Dmytro Dnes who died peacefully and
surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 87 years on January 23, 2014.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 wonderful years, Nusia, and devoted son Myron (Janice) and
daughter-in-law Cheryl Dnes. Dido will be missed immensely by his grandchildren Brad (Renae), Dan
(Jill), Kathryn, Nicole and Natalie and his great grand-children Kelsey, Ben, Damian and Tristan.
He was predeceased by his son Benny.
He will also be missed by family members Pat and Tony Ratushniak, Mary (Darryl) Price and Irene
(Butch) Olson and many other family and friends.
Dmytro was born in Ukraine and after immigrating to Canada, settled in his beloved Kenora where he
worked for CPR and then had a long career at the paper mill.
Dmytro's happiest days were spent with family, friends and fishing. He was a faithful member of St.
Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and choir where he helped with Bingo and was affectionately known
as 'Bingo Man'.
Dmytro was an honest man who worked hard all his life putting his family first. He was extremely
sentimental and had a great sense of humour and wise words of wisdom.
The family would like to thank Dr. Beveridge and the nurses at Lake of the Woods Hospital for their
support and kindness.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and the service will be held
on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Home in Kenora with Father Stepan Didur
officiating.
Our 'Dido' will be remembered forever in our hearts until we meet again.
