In Loving Memory Of Dorleen Orosy
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Dorleen Verna Orosy (nee Jackson) at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital at the age of 92, on Nov. 8, 2020. Dorleen was predeceased by her loving husband George and son David. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Judy Warnick (Michael) and Leanne Polny (Danny), son Scott (Lori), daughter-in-law Shirley Orosy, as well as seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Dorleen was born in Kenora on Aug. 9, 1928. She spent most of her life in Kenora raising her family with her husband George. She was known by most of her friends and family as “Lu”. Dorleen was an avid knitter and spent countless hours creating a variety of knitted wares. Everyone in the family were proud owners of her sweaters, socks, mitts and colourful blankets. Neighbours and drop-ins were usually treated to her baking. Many cups of coffee were enjoyed with her cookies, tarts and cakes. Her favourite pastime was bingo. In later years, when she was unable to get to the bingo hall, she still managed to participate in the game by playing a “few” scratch tickets. To the paramedics of Kenora EMS who tended to Dorleen, we thank you for your patience and care. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at LWDH who treated Dorleen with kindness and compassion during her brief stay in the hospital. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.brownfuneralhomekenora.com BROWN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE ENTRUSTED WITH ARRANGEMENTS.
