April 27, 1991 – July 23, 2010
It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Ethan Boucha on Friday, July 23, 2010 at the age of 19 years old.
In his too short life, Ethan loved and was loved. His love of flying and his family was evident in every decision he made. We always knew Ethan would be great at whatever he chose to do and it was no great surprise when he announced he wanted to be a pilot. Whether it was from the rafters at the house on Osborn Island in his homemade swing or being thrown in the air by his dad; he was born to fly.
Ethan’s upbringing was anything but conventional. From driving his Elan skidoo at age 4, to flying to school in his dad’s plane or driving a boat at age 5 - his parents gave him the confidence to try anything and that he did. His graciousness and concern for others began at a very young age and gained him the respect of his peers. How many times would you hear him ask “Are you okay?”, “Are you warm?” while driving you on the quad or in his little 14’ searching for turtles.
As he grew from a boy to a man so did his confidence, He had a natural ability for everything he did – from school, to sports to making you feel welcome. Bowling, baseball, hockey and soccer came naturally to him and with Dustin beside him, they were unstoppable. Ethan and Dustin…Dustin and Ethan… two peas in a pod. The Boucha Brothers made quite a team – The Kenora Thistles, The Beaver Brae Broncos, the Rat Portage Braves or the Fury – were better teams because of them.
Once Ethan decided it was helicopters he wanted to fly, once again, he just did it. His natural talent and dedication took him to the top of his class and was already working full time as a pilot at the time of his tragic accident. Although it is the hardest thing to say goodbye, we know he was doing what he loved – fly!
He will be missed by his parents, Shelley and Leonard, brother Dustin (Kristi), Uncle Bob and love, Macy and all members of the Boucha, Seymour and Pemmican families.
A Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
