Evelyn Helen Agnes Jaffrey Johnson

Evelyn Johnson, a resident of Pinecrest Home for the Aged passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2011 with her family by her side.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Harry and Isabella Gauld, husband William (Bill) Johnson, brothers Harry, George, Les, Bert, Ernie and Percy Gauld, as well as sisters Ella Gauld, Ada Beda and Helen Nordlund.

She is survived by her children Brian (Denise), Ross, Isabel (Clyde) Orr and Bob (Robyn). Her grandchildren: Eric (Lindsay), Ole (Jenn), Brianna (Jamieson), Ashley (Graham), Kristy (Mike) and Kara Orr, Tyler (Shelley) and Holly (Jeff) Rose. As well as six great grandchildren. Sister in laws Jean Johnson, Eula Johnson and Alma Gauld. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn stayed at home to raise her family until 1970 when she took a position at the Kenora Police Station as a guard, she then decided to take a position at the Detox Centre as a supervisor.

Evelyn enjoyed spending her summers at camp on Blindfold Lake. She was also a life member of the Wenonah Chapter 18 Order of the Eastern Star since September 09, 1952.

The family would like to thank Pinecrest Home for the Aged for their wonderful care for the last six years.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to Pinecrest Home for the Aged or the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery with Pastor Robert Wittmeier officiating.
