It is with great sadness that George P. Fisher suddenly passed away on July 20, 2021. He is leaving many children and grandchildren to mourn and remember many fond memories with them. He is leaving his children: Greg Strang, Lawrence, Eugene Kejick, Gary Michaud (Stephanie), Gerald Michaud (Kristy), Beatrice Michaud (Grant) and Christina Fisher. His grandchildren: Leon, Annie, Jerrick, Elly, Terence, Elijah, Evan, Latoya, Amber, Garri, Nevaeh, Latreile, Ally, Kamdyne, Fabian, Gennita, Christopher, Grant Jr., Mikayla, Jadyn, Jason Magiska, Anne-Marie Magiska Terry-Lynn Gagnon and Earl Elkin. His great-grandchildren: Miles, Jerry, Courage and Aurora. His siblings: Mary Ann, David, Cindy (Adolphus) and Ivan (Edith).
He has many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends too many to mention. However, He has special relations with his close friends: Tummy McDonald, Harvey Bunting, Rocky and Gretchen Bunting.
He also leaves behind his ex-partner of many years whom he was fond of – Diane Michaud.
He is predeceased by: parents – Archie and Elizabeth Fisher, Alec and Annie Neepin. His siblings: Christine Elkin, Margaret Elkin, Norman Alano, Lorne Fisher and Tim Fisher.
George was an active member of Wabaseemoong. He helped with many activities which were held by the late Delores Paishk and with events held by Rocky and Gretchen Bunting. He enjoyed being around his friends, joking and poking fun with them. He loved ice-fishing with his children and playing Gin with his many friends. In his earlier years, he drove heavy equipment and machinery. He was a pulp cutter and beach comber. George was a caring individual and he paid compliments whenever he had the opportunity to do so. He was an avid sports and hockey fan. Boston Bruins was his favorite team and he let everyone know. He volunteered at the Youth Centre and he volunteered Resource Centre.
Whenever there was an event, he would volunteer his services in any way he could.
George Paul Fisher will be buried with his family members at Goshawk Landing.
Wake services will be held at Mizhakiiwetung Memorial School commencing Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
Funeral will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 with services officiated by Pastor Frank Kowal.
Pallbearers: Joey Mandamin, Chris Cameron, Kyle Bunting, Danny Courchene, Nate Copeland and Greg Strang.
