August 3, 1972 – January 8, 2019
Harvey Amos Peters, a resident of Whitedog First Nations, passed away on January 8, 2019 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
He was born August 3, 1972 in Whitedog, Ontario.
Left to cherish his memory and mourn his passing are his father George Land (Janet), siblings Randy (Teresa), Flavia, Judy, Larry (Denise), George (Wanda), Maureen (Jerald) and Joe Peters, his children Isaiah, Quill, Kiera and Maryella.
Harvey is predeceased by his mother Molly Land, brothers Thomas Moose, Frederick Carpenter, sister Bonnie Peters, adopted parents Gideon and Helen Peters.
Amos loved to draw traditional art work, listen to music, spend time with family and friends, loved to joke around and really loved his daughters, he also liked to exercise, hunt, fish and enjoyed being outdoors.
The family would like to offer a special acknowledgement to Greg Strang and Jim Kakekagumick for their devotion and assistance shown to Amos for his visits and completing errands, we all appreciated your support. Also to all the doctors and nurses that know him as famous ‘Amos’. As well as Chief and council of Wabaseemoong, the staff at Whitedog Medical Centre and Treaty 3 Police for their assistance responding to every call.
Wake Services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitedog Community Hall.
Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Whitedog Community Hall with interment to follow at Whitedog Cemetery.
