January 2, 1935 - November 30, 2025
Heather was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Alma and Ernie Williams and lived in the area as well as Midway, Manitoba. The family moved to Keewatin in 1951 where she met James (Jim) Gordon whom she married on December 20, 1952. They had 3 children, Donald, Margaret, and Jamie.
Heather was predeceased by her mother and father, her husband, her brother Ray Williams, her daughter Margaret (Margie) Landry and her son James (Jamie) Gordon. Heather was survived by her son Don Gordon, son in law Ray Landry (Shelley), grandchildren Alexandra (Ashley), Christopher, Owen (Kristy), Scott (Angela), and Cynthia Sawyer. As well as her great grandchildren Reina, Dallas, Sydnee, Saeryn, and Caiden.
Mom was always outdoors when possible, walking her circuit through Mink Bay Trails on her own or with her dog companions. When not out and about, she enjoyed her yard and her garden, cutting her own grass and cleaning the sidewalk of snow. She also found cross country skis and got the whole family interested to go on the lake or over to the sawmill hills for a "spin" as she would say. She wore out 2 sets of skis and two dogs in the process. Heather was a positive person her whole life even though she faced a lot of challenges along the way, mostly health issues, but never gave up.
When she came to Keewatin at first at about the age of 16, she spent a lot of time at the Keewatin Rink running the concession stand and playing girls hockey, sometimes playing against the boys' team. She was goalie for the girls' team; Jim Gordon was on the boys' team in goal on the other end of the rink when he noticed her; it was a short time before they dated. A lot of social life for teens was mom's family restaurant at the Kee-Wat-Inn where the dining room turned into a dance floor on the weekends, a jukebox played and many of mom and pop's friendships were made there.
Mom stayed in her home until she was 90 years of age moving to Pinecrest in April 2025. Shout out to all of the Pinecrest staff for their care of mom; thank you all!
There will be no service as per Heather's wishes.
