Mrs. Ida Bunting a resident of Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home, passed away on December 25, 2017 at her residence.

Ida became and lived her life as a single parent to her children with assistance from her mother Annie, she also loved helping out in raising her grandchildren.

She liked blueberry picking and playing solitaire. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always caring for the likes of her family and friends.

Ida enjoyed teasing her loved ones, sewing, card games, squash, babysitting the grandkids, taking care of her children, skinning beavers for other people, laughing a lot and joking around.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim Bunting, her parents Jacob & Annie McDonald (Bigblood), daughter Josephine Bunting, brothers Cornelius, Simon and George McDonald Sr., sister (little sister), grandchildren, Hushie & Annette Bunting, Elizabeth Wesley, Allison & Barrett Bunting, baby Bunting, great grandchildren; Felicia Hunter, Nolan Courchene & Noah Bunting, nephews and nieces, Art and George McDonald Jr., Cyrena Cederwall (McDonald), sister in law, Alice Fisher (Nee Bunting) and Grace Henry (Bear).

Survived are her loving family, Ida’s children, George (Susie) Norman, Mary, Gordon, John (Janet) and James Bunting, grandchildren Rocky (Gretchen), Darlene (Larry) Jeffrey (Edna), Brandon (Judy), Jennifer (Mike), David (Cheyenne), Adrian, Ronnie Bunting, Harvey Bunting (Stephanie), Darnel Jack, David and Elaine Kejick (Jaret), Mary Joanne, Ramona & Valene Bunting, Elaine McD, Candice Bunting, Nadine Swartout, Joni, Jazanne, John Jr & Jeonni Bunting, Ida’s great grandchildren, Terry, Rocky Jr., Roxanne, Kyle, Rochele, Lil Rocki, Deana, Jewel, Myles, Dennie, Kristy, Autume, Kyler, Kylie, Kaylee, Colton, Logan, Brandice, Brandy, Celeste, Brennan, Dallas, Lakeisha, Egan, Emry, Erro, Avery, Tina, Alana, Fayla, Abby, Ariaha, Brody, Theresa, Ethan, Daylyn, Gracie, Malik, Kennide, DJ, Jalaynee, Sable, Roy Bunting, Alyssa, Marcella, Julianna, Clyde, Martella, Alicia, Giles, Jaymee, Brave & Prince Bunting, Nephew Jacob McDonald, niece, Sharon McDonald, grand nieces Ashley Cederwall and Andrea Cederwall.

We would like to thank the nurses at Birchwood for taking care of our beloved Ida. Special thanks to Chief and Council, school staff and Roanna/Jason, Chobbs and John Paishk and Myrna McDonald for coming to sit with her.

Wake Services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Mizhakiiwetung Memorial Gymnasium.

Traditional Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 beginning at 12:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Whitedog Cemetery.

Ladies are asked to please wear their traditional skirts.
