Ivan is predeceased by his parents Moses and Rita Land, brother Roderick “Autum” Land, aunt Alice Fisher, uncles Charlie and Isaac Land, Ronnie Fontaine, Louie and Richard Ashopenace, nephew Franklin Assin.
Surviving family is; Wayne (Lillian) Land, Lorraine (Freddie) Land, Craig Assin, and eldest sister Agnes Fisher. Nieces and nephews Amy, Wayne Jr, Kellie, Sianne, Ziigwan, Kaylie, Tia, Barry, Randy, Helen, Gabbie and Elaine. Aunt Margaret Keewatin and her children Brenda, Gloria, Tammy, Glen and Nathaniel and too many family and friends to mention: Land, Ashopenace, Stone, Assin, Kejick, Swain, Meeseewaypetung, Kokopenace, Pelly, Keesick, Fobister, Keewatin, Strong, Necanapence, Payash, Pelly, Ackabee and Mathews.
He was a caring, loving person and was independent. He enjoyed going to church every Sunday. He enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and stargazing. He worked as a custodian at Migizi Wazason Child Care Centre for many years till retirement. He was a little league hockey coach because of his passion for helping children and the community.
A Wake Service will be held at Ivan Land's Residence in Grassy Narrows, Ontario, on April 16, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Ivan Land's Residence in Grassy Narrows, Ontario, on April 18, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am with Elder Langford Ogemah leading the services with burial to follow in Grassy Narrows First Nation.
