OBITUARY

Mr. Jeffrey David Barrie

February 12, 1953May 19, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, uncle and dear friend, Jeff Barrie. Jeff is survived by his mother, Susan Gilliland of Dublin, OH, brother Chad Barrie (Judy) and nephew Ian Barrie of Dublin, OH. Jeff will be missed by his "extended family" in Sioux Narrows, as well as his friends. Jeff is predeceased by his father, James. Jeff was born February 12, 1953 in Boston, MA. As an infant, he re-located to Wheaton, IL with his family. Jeff attended elementary school in Wheaton, IL and high school at St. John's Military Academy in Delafield, WI where he graduated in 1971. There he met his lifelong friend and "brother", Eric Brown. Jeff remained close with many of his "brothers" from SJMA over the years. Jeff attended Devry Technical School in Chicago to become a heating and air conditioning mechanic. Jeff remained in Illinois until 1979 when he moved to Sioux Narrows with his "family away from family", the Brown's. Jeff worked at Totem Resorts for 31 years. Jeff was a master of maintenance. He had the ability to fix anything from electrical to plumbing and everything in between. Jeff worked long hours and could be counted on for emergencies day or night. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lake of the Wood District Hospital.

Jeff,

You rocked and always put a smile on my face when I worked for totem...... You always helped me fix my hair straightener when I blew a fuse, hahahahaha. You were a truly special person and it is a great loss to totem as well as the world. Take care my friend....
