Joseph Stanley Necanapenace "Miigoshzhoonsh" March 21, 1948 - October 11, 2020 "Forever missed, forever loved" It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph Stanley Necanapenace at the Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home on October 11, 2020.

Left behind to mourn his loss is his only daughter Ashley Nothing (Dolly Nothing); nephews and nieces, Pete(Louie), Shirley, Ruth, JB, Sylvia, Christine, Annette, Harvey, Marty, Jennifer, Darren, Lional, Sheila, Clayton, Frazer, Beatrice, Lawrence, John Clint, Cindy, Penny, Evelyn, Tony, Clarence, Brenda, Sherry, Delbert, Waylon, Paul, Nelda, Elliott, Everett, Lucy, Jeff, Ryan, Rita, Steph, Levi, Carla, Carolyn, Cayla, Joseph, Allan, Sarah, Arthur, Anderson, Leo Strong, Myra, & Linda; his cousins, Susan F, Eveleen P, Rita, Brenda, Clara Kokokopenace, Shirley K, Rose, Gloria, Geraldine & Roger; and numerous others; his grandchildren he dearly loved (his babies), Leon, Colton, John, Rosie, Jesse, Jordan & Marni and ..and many, many more. Joseph leaves this world to join his loving parents Pierre Necanapenace and Agnes Perrault; his brothers, Norbert Assin, Joe Assin, Art Panpasay and Joe Panpasay; his sister, Edna Strong; his step-sisters, Eva Necanapenace and Irene Assin; his uncles, Charlie and Felix Perrault; his Aunts, Rosie and Lucy Kokokopenace; his cousins, Dora A., Jessie A., Gabriel K., F. Daniel K., Simon K., Mary-Ann P. Joe P., and George P; his nephews, Jerry W., Clifford W., Wayne P., Marvin P., Melvin P., Norbert P., Alvin P., Walter H., Raymond H., Joseph H., Ernie A., Donny K., and Don N; his nieces, Margaret W., Mary A., Helen P., Shirley F., Lela B and Karen P. Joseph was a free spirit and helped anyone who was in need, especially taking the time to babysit his cousins, nieces and nephews. He was an accomplished fishing guide and enjoyed wood working. He enjoyed a good card game with family. He made many good friends along the way. A Traditional Wake service will start at 1:00 p.m. at the Minnowsaywin Building at the Grassy Narrows First Nation on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. A Traditional Funeral Service will take place at the Minnowsaywin Building on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow service.
