The family of Kerry Carpenter (Nahmy) are saddened to announce his passing
on January 12, 2021 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. Kerry was born on September 2, 1960.
He was raised in Wabaseemoong Independent Nation where he helped raised his children Norma (Fred), Karen (Dale), Elenore (Jonah), and Nicky (Angel). He also leaves his grandchildren Silas (Cassie), Josh, Saddie (Thomas), Starr (Chris), Gage, Miley, Naylin, Nadine. Great grandchildren Parker, Romeo, Eliza, and Kessel; step-mother, Rosie McDonald.
His siblings Lenora Carpenter, Georgina Carpenter (Warren), Delores Carpenter (Joey), Heather Carpenter, John James Carpenter, Gina McDonald (Marvin), Arlene Chartrand (Evans), Gary M. Scott and Tiffany Langan (Caesar); aunties Celene Scott, Eliza Scott (Ahmok), Rose Fisher and uncle Martin Scott. Cousins Jason Carpenter, Dino Carpenter, Shayne Carpenter, Kenneth Carpenter, Florence Carpenter, Sandra Carpenter and Louie Carpenter, Jackie, Harvey, Leon, Neil, Chris, Cathy, Rebecca, Ameila, Alyysa, Marlen and Mason as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives too numerous to mention. His best brother Charles (Tonto). His best buddies John Paishk, Barney McDonald, Ricky Cameron, Stuart Kakeway and Ray Wawence.
He was predeceased by his parents George Elmer Scott, and Doris Carpenter, his only son Ferris Muckle, siblings Stuart Carpenter, Harriet, unborn grandchildren, niece Tracy Carpenter, uncles Albert Carpenter, Eli Carpenter, Allen Carpenter, Percy Carpenter, Archie Scott, Bob Scott, aunties Josephine Fisher, Cecilia Scott, grandparents Charlie & Flora Carpenter, John & Alice Scott, cousins Violet Carpenter, Flora Cameron, Maureen Carpenter, Sharon Carpenter, Nicki Carpenter.
Kerry enjoyed the outdoors and telling stories. He was a jokester and he especially loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends’ whether it was in person or talking on the phone. He loved to attend traditional gatherings.
Wake Service will begin on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Whitedog School Gymnasium.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 am with Elder Ken Kakeeway Sr. leading the Traditional Service with burial to follow.
