April 3, 1956 – January 23, 2020
With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Lance McCutchon on January 23, 2020.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Linda, step-daughter Jaime Nachuk, step-mom Darlene McCutchon, sister Penny Lucas (Bill Laidlaw), brothers, Allan Lucas (Corinne), Daniel (Janet), James (Heather), Kelly, and David (Alexis). Also numerous nieces and nephews who he affectionately called his “NIBLINGS.”
Lance is predeceased by his parents Dora and Robert (Bob) McCutchon.
Lance was born in Kenora and loved life here. His favourite times were our fishing trips together, taking family and friends for a pontoon ride around Trout Lake, snow machining and scuba diving (in earlier years) and our trips to Mazatlan, Mexico. He was never without a tale to tell after some of our adventures.
Lance was a millwright and “Jack of All Trades”, employed with numerous employers over the years. His last being an instructor with Confederation College. With his wide range of knowledge we accomplished many a house renovation and lastly built our dream home on Trout Lake.
He loved family get togethers; the guitars would come out and singing old rock “N” roll songs with his brothers.
Lance was never one to mince words-he said it like it was. He had a quick witted sense of humour, and genuinely enjoyed helping others (which many friends and neighbours can attest). He might drive you crazy explaining why and how to do a job the right way but always tried to make it a “teaching moment”.
Lance was taken far too young and his big heart still had much he wanted to accomplish. Words can never describe how much he will be missed.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 1:00pm at his Trout Lake Residence.
Memorial donations may be made to “It’s a Dog’s Life or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
