It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved, beautiful, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Wiigwas Elder and Senior Care Home.
She is survived by her husband Donnie Henton, daughter Lana Henton-Sullivan (Gary) Sullivan, her grandsons Noah and Jake Sullivan, siblings June Martin, Randy Martin and Thomas Martin (Pamela) and many nieces and nephews.
Welcoming her on her journey are her parents Ben Martin and Dorothy Tetroe, sisters Kathy Burns and Darlene Martin and brother Donny Martin, as well as many close friends.
Linda was born and raised in Kenora, she grew up on the Ritchie Road with her 6 siblings, then moved to the James Road after marrying Donnie. Many wonderful memories were created on the James Road with family and friend get-togethers including nephew Marty Midgard and his wife Wendy Midgard. Linda enjoyed time on Black Sturgeon fishing with Donnie and family and friend camping adventures on 314 Road and Jones Road. There was never a dull moment exploring and taking part in all the wilderness adventures with Donnie. Linda’s life focus was always family, raising their daughter Lana, then after Noah and Jake were born, she enjoyed every moment with them. Her grandsons were the light of her life.
Linda was diagnosed with Dementia in September 2017, her medical journey started at Pinecrest Home for the Aged in Feb. 2018, then she moved to Hogarth in Thunder Bay in Dec. 2018. In Nov. 2019, Linda moved to Wiigwas where she lived for the last 3.5 years. In Feb. 2022, Linda was diagnosed with CHF which complicated her medical condition.
