Margaret left her home in Great Britain (Scotland) and travelled to Canada in 1969 to be united in marriage to the love of her life, Gerald. They resided in Kenora for their entire married life of 46 years, but travelled back to Margaret's homeland every couple of years, while they were able.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and spent many enjoyable hours singing in the Church choir and participating in the church bazaars and bake sales. Margaret and Gerald always enjoyed and talked about the Sunday morning breakfasts, at Yesterday's Restaurant, with friends after Sunday Church service. "Good Food' Good Friends, Good Conversation"
