Margaret Rose Kent

January 1, 1939 – February 25, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Kent after a brief illness on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the age of 82 at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home.

Margaret was survived by her children Clarence (Evelyn), Alvin, Matilda, Rosemary and Joseph and step-daughter Andrea. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Brian, Brenna (Felix Jr.), Eileen (Michael), Christopher, Brianne, Chelsea (Maverick), Alexandra (Danny), April (Harvey), Roxanne (Justin), Nicole Michael, Ryan, Adam (Jermaine), Matthew, Shannon (Evan), Krystle (Lyle), Stephen (Alyssa), Braedon, Cody (Jenna), Colby, Ryan, Faith, Liam, Anthony and Geoff.

Margaret is predeceased by her ex-husband Joe Kent Sr., parents Alex Smith and Matilda Bigblood, stepson Dean, grandchildren Jennifer, Elena, Brent, Brandon and great granddaughter Cherise.

Margaret was born January 1, 1939 and raised in Swan Lake, Ontario. She then moved to Wabaseemoong where she was a cook for 2 years and then later moved to Kenora where she was a court interpreter for 2 years.

Margaret enjoyed many hobbies that included playing pool, cooking, blueberry & rice picking and hanging out with her grandchildren while listening to her favorite song “Ave Marie”.

Being an only child, she had five children and five stepchildren and they gave her 50+ grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a positive influencer to those around her and will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Norman Community Club on Sunday, February 28, 2021 beginning at 11:00 am with a Traditional Funeral Service to follow on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, her final resting place will be at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
