

August 30,1936 - December 21, 2010
The family of Marie-Ange Helene Therrien is deeply saddened to announce her passing at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on December 21st 2010 at the age of 74 after a long battle with Pick’s Disease.
Left to mourn are her husband of 48 years Norman, children David, Gisele (Paul), and Sheila, five beautiful granddaughters; Taija, Cassie & Kristi, Anika & Eliza, two sisters;
Jeanne Dupont of Winnipeg, MB and Yvette Vincent of Lac Du Bonnet, MB, one brother Roland Caya of Quebec City, QC, two sister-in-laws Marie-Ange Caya of Winnipeg,MB (who sadly passed away December 25, 2010) and Claire Caya of Great Falls, MB, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Rose-Anna and Elphege Caya. Two brothers Jean-Paul Caya and Conrad Caya, and her two infant children Paulette and Marc.
Marie-Ange was born in St. Pierre, MB on August 30th, 1936. She grew up in Mud Falls, MB on the family farm. She graduated from Practical Nursing course in St. Boniface, MB in 1959. She worked most of her nursing career at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora. She was happiest working on Maternity ward
caring for “fresh from God” babies and new moms.
She was a member of the local Girl Guides for many years and served as Leader and Deputy Commissioner. She was also a member of the Catholic Women’s League for many years.
Marie-Ange enjoyed canoeing, fishing, archery, crafts, spending time with her family and especially going for motorcycle rides with Norm.
She was a gentle, kind and loving soul who touched the hearts of many people. She loved her family and friends quietly and unconditionally. She dealt with life’s challenges with great strength and grace. WE LOVE YOU MOM.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place in the spring followed by a private family interment.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
