Marie, aka Sheesheeb, loved hunting, commercial fishing and going to the casino. When wrestling was on, her and her sister Marjorie would be jumping around getting excited about each wrestling events. She loved blueberry pickings, garage sales was another favorite past-time, and her gifts were always well received by all. She opened her door to many, many children/young adults who chose to stay near her love and safety.
She taught all her sons to be hard working fisherman, still not one of her sons could out fillet/perform her. She has immense strength when going into the bush, mechanical wit, relentless and endurance to provide for her family. 4 tens and dice with her kids and grandkids when she took time to relax and this was after watching the family teams play soccer and volley ball. Her great sense of humor had hidden lessons and meanings of love that we all learned from. She adapted well throughout the years even recently sitting with her grandkids, while everyone was on their phone, including her. Her sons were her greatest joy, as grown men they could always expect a daily reminder of her maternal guidance and expectations.
A special mention to Dennis Halverson, father to her children, Sheesheeb considered Gordon Halverson and Albert (J.R) Halverson as her brothers and Peter Bird as well.
A Wake Service will take place at the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. A Traditional Service will take place Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Rat Portage First Nation Golden Eagle Bingo Hall.
