The family of Marius Joseph Ouellet wish to announce his passing on August 1, 2020 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Marius was born December 24, 1945 in Saint- Elzéar (Québec) to Sylvio and Lorette Ouellet, Marius grew up with a loving family of 15 siblings.
Left to mourn his loss is his loving partner of 30 years, Diane Carriere; his children, Nancy, Sabrina, Edward and Karri-Lynn (Joe); his grandchildren, Ryan, Mandie, Nicolas, Chelsie, Treven, Hailey, Kale, Christina and Damian; great grandchildren, Blair, Bentley and Aryah. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Noêlla (Réal), Hueguette (Andre), Claude, Rachel, Maurice (Linda), Réal (Anita), Jacinthe (René), Sylvain (Sylvie), Mario (Linda), Réjean, Marie-Lise (Sylvie) and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Marius had a special bond with his nephew and Godchild, Brad Ouellet, great niece, Nicole Ouellet, and grandson, Treven Ouellet.
He leaves this world to join his parents, Loretta & Sylvio and his brothers Noel, Fernando, Bernard and André.
Marius, also known as, Pa, Buddy, Little Buddy, Uncle Buddy, or Pépère came to the Kenora area to enjoy his outdoor passions of hunting, fishing, being a woodcutter, and exploring the wilderness, sharing his experiences and adventures with family & friends.
With his fishing gear always at the ready, summer or winter he was always eager and ready to go.
He retired from Pinecrest Nursing home where he enjoyed working and talking with the residents.

A Celebration of Life will take place in memory of Marius on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Service attendance is by family invite only. Following the service, a burial will take place at Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
Everyone is welcome to pay respects at the family home at 3 p.m.
