Marnie was born and raised in Kenora, into music from a young age, she played the Ukulele and piano as well as sang. With an array of shorthand awards under her belt, it only seemed fitting to move into secretarial work. Marnie dedicated 22 years to her career at the woodlands office at Abitibi Consolidated.
Marnie lived a quiet life surrounded by family and dear friends at Black Sturgeon Lake. All her memories as a child were with her brothers and cousins engaging in mischievous activities on the family property. From childhood to adulthood Black Sturgeon held a special place in her heart, which in turn gave Jami her appreciation for the lake.
Jami was with Marnie almost everyday taking care of all her needs for the last 9 months. Marnie loved Jami and appreciated all of the love and help her daughter gave her. She looked forward to everyday when Jami would come with her positive attitude and love for her. She often said she was so lucky to have Jami.
“There’s a bridge of cherished memories, from here to heaven above, I know we share that bridge, it’s called the bridge of love”
The family would like to thank Dr. Ramchander and Dr. Ibrahim at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre/Cancer Care as well as Wiigwas and Pinecrest Home for the Aged.
