Mrs Mary Sawchuk Peterson

August 8, 1925 - August 27, 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Peterson at the age of 86 years.

Left to mourn, her husband Frank of 66 years, her son Frank (Lori) her beloved grandchildren Matthew, Kylei (Matthew) and her great granddaughter Leah, Mary's brother William Sawchuk of Kenora and sister Stella (John) Williams of Winnipeg, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mary was born in Kenora where she was a woman of many talents. She was an accomplished pilot, accountant, teacher, gardener, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and the entertainment director at the farm on Black Sturgeon Lake. Mary donated her time and knowledge to the Board of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and many charities. She also donated her beautiful knitting to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital gift shop for many years.

We would likr to thank the Staff at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and the staff at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home.

At Mom's request there will be an informal and brief graveside prayer held at Lake of the Woods Cemetery on Saturday, September 3, 2011 with Father Rudy Manaloto officiating. Immediate family are welcome to atend.
