She will also be missed by her fur kid Monster, he drove her crazy but she loved that doggy.
Mary was born in Kenora, Ontario and was raised in Minaki where she met her partner David Chicago and they started a family. In her early years, Mary fished and hunted and also did blueberry and rice picking. She worked hard to provide for her family. She moved to Kenora in the early 90’s where she met her present partner John.
In her later life health issues befell her and was limited in what she could do but she enjoyed what she could. She enjoyed going for strolls with her partner, getting out to shop looking for those bargains, and scenic rides here and there, watching her favourite crime and animal shows and the Raptors, doing crossword puzzles and visiting with her lifelong friends in Minaki. She and her partner enrolled in the Lifelong Care program at the Ne-Chee Friendship Centre where she went to exercise classes and did other activities which she enjoyed very much and was very fond of her workers Kandida and Bev who took great care of her. Most of all, Mary enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren, she took great pride in all of them right up to her final days. We will surely miss her soft voice, laugh and that beautiful smile and dimples, her spunk, wit and her bluntness-she was not afraid to tell you what she thought. Mother, you will be forever the light of our lives and we will cherish all the beautiful memories and the gifts of wisdom you instilled in us all.
We would like to thank the Emergency Room and 3rd Floor nurses and Dr. Snyder for their care and compassion during her stays at the hospital.
A private viewing for immediate family only will take place and on August 31, 2019 a Celebration of life will be held to coincide with the planning of her daughter’s memorial as she wanted to do this until she was no longer with us, so we will celebrate Mom’s life and Wanda’s memorial together. No wake Service will be held as per mom’s wishes, cremation will take place, she and her daughter will rest eternally together at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
