Muriel Burke (MoMo)

November 6, 1929 - August 4, 2012

Peacefully in her sleep Muriel Burke (MoMo) passed away August 4th, 2012 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged.

She is remembered by her husband of 62 years Bob Burke, daughter Debbie Olson, grandsons Dale and Jared Olson, daughter Sharon Hagedorn & Ernie Sotke, granddaughter Jennifer Hagedorn & Ian Thomson and great grandaughter Skye Hagedorn, daughter Gail MacGillis, grandson Corey MacGillis, daughter Bobbie Daley & John Daley.

MoMo was born In Saskatchewan on the farm, one of sixteen siblings. She spent all of her adult life in the Kenora area where she raised her four daughters. She was a very patient, caring and sociable person who worked in the retail field, until she retired from Sears in the 1980's. Her passion was her family and friends. She was well known for her perogies, sewing costumes, and thoughtful care packages for her children and grandchildren. MoMo will be sadly missed by all the hearts she touched. Gone but we will never forget you.

A Celebration of MoMo's Life will be held August 8th, 2012 at 11:00 am at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating. Visitation will be held from 9: 00-10:30 am. Tea to follow the Celebration at the Knox United Church.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Muriel’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society.
