Percy Kenneth Garrow
( September 16, 1930 – October 12, 2020)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Percy at Pinecrest Home on October 12, 2020 at the age of 90 years.
Percy is survived by his loving wife Eva of 68 years, daughter Judy, son Donald (Judy deceased); sister Gloria; grandsons Jake (Jill), Luke (Rebecca), Zeke (Morgan); granddaughters Tracy (James), Corie (Jon); great grandchildren Parker, Ella, Savannah, Kaeden, Jace, Kade, Leah, Scarlett; sisters-in-law Colleen and Loretta an many nieces and nephews.
Percy was pre-deceased by his parents Frank and Adine Garrow; in-laws Thomas & Esther Young; sisters Elizabeth, Janet, Bernice; brothers Raymond, Gordon, Stanley; nephews Paul and Bill.
In his early years Percy was employed by M.Y. Cameron Wholesale, then later with Melrose Foods Ltd-Winnipeg as a sales representative, travelling northwestern Ontario, until taking early retirement due to health issues. He always remained positive throughout his life and became well known for his “one-liners” sense of humor. Hockey was his passion and he was the star goalie for the Columbus Club, Kinsmen Juniors and Keewatin Millers. He loved the outdoors, boating, fishing, snowmobiling and camping at Locke Bay and curled in the Keewatin Men’s Senior Men’s leagues. He also enjoyed creating and building with wood. In his later years, he especially enjoyed his coffee time with “the guys” at Vets.
Percy was always interested in his grandchildren’s activities and loved them all.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Pinecrest Home who provided quality care with a special thank you to Nicole and Mike for all their help and advice, and also to Larry at the reception desk, who was extraordinarily kind to us all.
There will be no service at this time, however, there will be a family Celebration of Life at a later date.
