

Born in Kenora, Ontario on April 30,1954 he lived his entire life in Kenora.
Rick grew up a big sports fanatic, playing and loving baseball and hockey and excelling at both. He watched every sport on tv, especially in the last few years as his health deteriorated, slowly then very quickly toward the end.
Rick and Donna loved their time at camp on Bigstone Bay until it became too difficult for Rick to handle during the last few years.
He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Joyce Portman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his 2 great loves Donna and Raegan (Jamie Fenton), his mother-in-law Mary Stricker, along with his siblings Dennis (Marj) Tori and Spencer; Janice (Gord) Greg, Lori; Jim, Lindsay, Jim Jr; Cheryl (Bruce) Kiley; Gary (Vanessa)and his great nieces and nephews, who he also loved with all his heart.
Rick also leaves behind his brother-in-law Gerry Stricker, sister-in-law Christina Stricker, Emily and David.
Rick was fortunate to have had so many close friends who he loved dearly and who meant the world to him. Thank you Tom, Kelly, Cam, Richard, Ian, Randy.
There will be a Celebration of Life later in the summer and he has asked that everyone raise a beer in his memory.
