Our condolences to your family. Ron was always a very kind person and we enjoyed hearing him play guitar at parties. As kids, we happily listened to his musical shenanigans when we were supposed to be sleeping, being sent to bed after delivering  bandaids for Ron’s fingers as the evening progressed. 

Ron and Eileen also always had a generous glass of pop for us kids when we stopped by to visit them at their house.  This act of generosity was huge in our childhood world.

We are sorry not to have made it to Ron’s memorial celebration due to family circumstances, but send our hopes of comfort at this time.

I first met Ron when I was 15 years old working part-time at then Main St. Safeway. My next relative connection was when I joined the Kenora Police Service, in 1968. Ron was a great inspiration as a Pollce officer and a friend. Our families enjoyed many good visits over the year,  which resulted in Ron and Eilleen becoming God-Parents to our children. Our final thoughts are with Ray, Debbie, and Doug and all the family members.
Ron was loved and respected by many.

I was saddened to hear of Ron’s passing! My condolences to Eileen and the family as they have certainly had a lot of grief over the years. I was a member of the Kenora Police Department from 1973 to 1977 and had the opportunity to work with Ron as my superior. We had a lot of laughs, did very  good police work and had a real success in solving  quite a few incidents. That success can be attributed to Ron’s leadership. Your battle with cancer has now ended and you can rest in peace Ron!

So sorry to hear the news of  Ron passing.  For many years, we shared  a few beers, and a ton  of good times every   Friday afternoon at the Kenora Legion with Carl, Pearl, and the gang!
Ron and his big smile and music will be missed by all who attended.

Sincere condolences to Eileen and family.  You were longtime and very kind neighbours to my parents.  Last time I saw Ron was at my Mother's funeral and his presence was much appreciated.  He will be missed.

I and many others have good and fun memories of Ron and his family.

My condolences to Mrs. Schott and to all of the family...   I will miss seeing him on my dog walking.  He was always ready for a chat and loved making a fuss over whatever dog I had with me.  He will be missed in our neighborhood.

Having been a bit of a troubled kid growing up in Kenora,   Officer Schott was one of the fairest and nicest policeman I interacted with.

I know how much of an emotional marker this event is and how it may be an especially difficult time, as it follows two "too-early" and similarly heartbreaking losses for all of you. My deepest condolences to Eileen, Ray, Debbie, Doug and their extended families. I, too, remember Ron.
...Truly, the end if an era.

I spent a lot of my childhood at your house with Darryl.
You parents always made me feel at home.
Best memory was  blasting the Eagles Hotel California in the rec room.
The door opened and we expected to get sh1t for playing too loud.

Instead Ron came down with his guitar and played along with it.

Saw him many times over the recent years, always ready to have a chat.

He was a good kind man with a sense of humour and I know he left you with lots of good memories.

I had the privilege of working manys years with Ron at KPS. He had a great sense of humour and was someone you could always count on! He will be greatly missed!

I am so very sorry to read of the passing of Mr. Schott. I last saw him about two months ago where he shared some of his recent health issues with me. Whenever I ran into Mr. Schott, often at No Frills,  he was always so friendly and upbeat. My Dad enjoyed working alongside him at the KPS and would on occasion share fun stories of their times spent together. 
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I will miss his friendliness and smile at the grocery store.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Doug. 
He was a good man. I remember when I was a kid my friends and I found a stolen van in the golf course in the bush on what is now the front nine. 
Your Dad was one of the responding officers and he treated a bunch of kids me being the oldest at probably 13-14 with a lot of respect. I’ve never forgotten that.
Plus he was a gracious host along with your Mom for the grad party at your house.
