July 20, 1967 - December 8, 2020
Sherri Morgan passed away suddenly on December 8, 2020 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
She is remembered by her husband of 29 years Doug, children Scott (Taylor) and Haelee (Jed), mother-in-law Sadie Morgan, sister Jennifer Frechette(nee Braun) (Jason), brother Jeff Braun (Sandy), brothers-in-law Kirk Morgan and Don Garrow, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her father Richard Braun, her mother Donna Braun (nee Pullon), father-in-law Jim Morgan, and sister-in-law Judy Garrow.
Sherri was born in Winnipeg and moved to Laclu at a very young age. She grew up figure skating in Keewatin and enjoyed various community activities in Laclu. She met Doug in high school and they dated until they got married in 1991. Shortly after, they bought a house and started a family. Sherri loved spending time with her family and friends, from watching all of the kids sporting events and tournaments, to helping with school projects, hosting family get togethers at the house, planning horseshoe or bag toss tournaments in the backyard, trips to visit her brother in Winnipeg or sister in Thunder Bay, WeFest and Shooting Star trips to the States, Ladies Slo-Pitch, Splurge group, curling, and many other various things she was involved with, but no matter what, wherever she went she made fun happen. She was always up for an adventure with Doug, whether it be camping, fishing, or quadding, she loved to spend time outdoors. Sherri was very passionate and took great pride in her career as an Education Assistant in the public school system in Kenora. She progressed in her career starting in the classroom, to special needs, and towards the end she moved into the Speech Language program. She was very involved with many different organizations in the community such as in the Elks Royal Purple, past president of Keewatin Ladies Curling, OSSTF union, and the labour council.
Sherri will be remembered by her generosity to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her infectious smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all. She was so proud of her children and all their accomplishments and she loved to spoil her fur babies.
There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation.
