Shirley Forsyth
July 15,1910 - January 4, 2017
Shirley passed away peacefully at her residence Pinecrest Home.
Shirley was born in Grand Coulee, Saskatchewan where she received her education. After receiving her teacher's certificate, she taught in rural schools until 1942. Shirley went to Ottawa to work in munitions and supply department in the war effort. In 1944 Shirley came to the Kenora General Hospital where she trained as a nurse and received her R.N. After nursing 10 years Shirley returned to teaching, first at King George VI school, then at Pinecrest School.
Shirley retired in 1972.
Shirley and her friends Eva, Josie and extended family enjoyed their summers at the Allin Camp at Sherwood Lake and then later years at their camp at McConnell Lake.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents Thurza and Alexander (Alex) Forsyth and by her brothers Lloyd and Don, sister Ruby in Saskatchewan. Her good friends Eva and Josie and many of her extended family.
Immediate cremation. Private internment.
Memorial Service will be officiated by Rev. Gord Day-Janz of the First Baptist Church - Kenora on July 15th, 2017 - Pinecrest Auditorium 1:00 p.m., refreshments following.

Christina, Debra and family wish to thank all of the staff for Shirley's care over the eight years she resided at Pinecrest Home. Their excellent care, friendship and love was instrumental in her ability to reach the wonderful age of 106.
