Steve Joseph at the age 87 left peacefully with family by his side on Sunday August 31, 2025. Steve was a resident of Naotkamegwanning, Ontario. Mishakiiwetang temporarily resided in Flint Michigan and Minneapolis MN and later returned to his home land. He commercial fished and guided for a number of years to local Resorts and the Great Bear Lodge of the Northwest Territories. He shared his many adventurous and entertaining stories, yes, he was a story teller. Mizhakiiwetang was known as Dad not just to his children but others that treated him like his dad, known as Papa to his grandchildren and extended family and Uncle not just to his nieces and nephews to many others as well. He was a quiet man but was there for you when needed.
