July 17, 1952 – March 13, 2026
After years of poor health, Terry had succumbed to an illness of cancer.
Terry is survived by his wife Diane of 31 years, his 3 stepdaughters Christine, Crystal and Karen. His older brother Steve (Donna) and younger sister Lorrie McKie, as well as his step grand kids and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was predeceased by his parents Steve Sr. and Jackie Hulagrocki and his sister’s husband Rockie McKie.
Born and raised in Kenora, in his younger years, Terry had a love for Lake of the Woods and became Captain of the Argyle, doing trips for people who loved to tour our sunset country on the lake. Later he got an apprenticeship with Kenora Machine, and once licensed in heavy duty mechanics, he moved to Savant Lake to work on logging trucks for many years. He then moved to Ignace to continue working as a mechanic on the big trucks for years. This is where he met and married Diane. Years later Terry’s health became concerning, so with early retirement they packed up, moved to Kenora, bought the parent’s home and lived a quiet life.
Terry was a quiet man and never asked much of anyone. He enjoyed a good life back in the day with his wife and good friends where their loved hunting, fishing and camping in Ignace.
Thank you to Char and all the nursing staff at Lake of the Woods Hospital who took care and time to explain the short time of transition of Terry’s passing.
And a big thank you to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre for giving directions and help with all that is needed in this devastating time.
We would greatly appreciate donations be made to the palliative care unit at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
