William John McMillan

August 29, 1937 - July 16, 2012

It is with deep sorrow that the family of William (Bill) McMillan announces his passing on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged. He was to be 75 years old this August 29th.

William was predeceased by his mother Agnes and father Samuel McMillan.

He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his sister Gladys Ellis (John) of Campbell River, BC and his brother George (Fran) of Kenora, ON. Also left to mourn Bill's passing are his two sons: John of Kenora and Steven who resides in Edmonton, AB.

Bill began his earthly journey in Toronto, Ontario; however he was lured to Kenora and the Lake of the Woods by his older brother when it was time for him to leave home. Bill enjoyed the great outdoors and spent much time in his boat fishing or on his snowmachine touring this vast area ... He felt a part of the nature that surrounds us all who live here.

Bill worked at the local paper mill for 31 years before his retirement in 1998 and he continued to call Kenora his home following his retirement.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Pinecrest Home for the Aged for their outstanding care and compassion during Bill's time in their care.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be conducted by the Rev. Rod Lamb at First Presbyterian Church, Kenora on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
