He was preceded in death by his wife, Queline in 2009. Billy Wade is survived by his brother Rick (Norma) Hampton, Kansas, children, Michelle (David) Pele, Arkansas, Brenda Hampton-Ortiz (Eddie) Cambria, Ca, Nathan (Wendy)Hampton, Texas. 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He also leaves behind his great friends and neighbors in Fillmore, Ca, that was his social scene on 4th Street and had his own seat at the local pub, where he went daily to meet with friends. His caregivers, Lily, Leo, William and Nurse Lindsey were with him constantly, and he loved them deeply.
Billy Wade Hampton served in the US Navy as a seaman aboard the USS Firecrest, a minesweeper, from Dec 1947 until Dec 1951. He was only 16 years old when he was signed as the Navy has his birthdate as 1930, not 1931. I guess a birth certificate was not required back in the 40’s. That action shows Billy Wade’s attitude in life. He does what he wants, when he wants.
Billy Wade Hampton was a tough, charming, sarcastic and humorous man. He kept everyone at arm's length with the one exception, his wife Queline! This ornery, passionate and handsome man lived life to the fullest to the very end. He was loved by many, hated by some, but respected by all.
May you rest in peace Billy Wade, along with the love of your life!
Billy Wade will be laid to rest at memorial Gardens in Fresno alongside his wife, Queline.
Graveside service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, California, on July 9, 2025, at 10:00 am.
