He was born to Francisco Martinez and Francisca Solis Martinez on September 8th, 1930, in Venado, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. As a young man in Mexico, he rode and handled horses with ease and pride. Once he moved to the United States, he worked hard as a heavy-equipment operator for over 50 years and retired in 1992. In Mendota CA, from 1980 to 2001, he and his wife Frances, became owners of the ‘Martinez Drive-In. During this time, he had the chance to connect with many people and was able to build countless friendships.
Beyond his work, our father loved all sports, but he especially loved the Los Angeles Dodgers. His great love for the Dodgers is one of the many things he was able to pass onto his children. Although he was a man of little words, he had an enormous heart. He will be remembered for his heart having been full of love for all of those he shared a connection with. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a reminder of the importance of family ties across distances.
