Frances Hernandez, 74, passed away on August 21, 2026. Born on November 18, 1951, Frances was a beloved presence whose steady courage and compassionate heart shaped the lives of those who knew and loved her. A resident of Kerman, California, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude.
Frances found joy in the simple, meaningful moments that make a life rich—especially time spent with her grandkids and family. She delighted in listening to music, sharing meals while going out to eat, and taking roadtrips that turned ordinary days into cherished memories. Whether she was shopping, enjoying a good place to sit and people watch, or quietly working through crossword puzzles and word searches, Frances carried a warmth and attentiveness that made others feel seen and cared for.
Frances was preceded in death by her spouse, Roberto Sarmiento Hernandez, and her father, Frank Romero Enriquez. She is survived by her Daughter, Rita and Husband Salvador Flores; her Son, Augustine and Wife Claudia Hernandez and Son, Ricardo and Wife JoVanna Hernandez ; and her 8 grandchildren; Jessica, Salvador Michael, Estevan, Janessa, Robert, Jae Angelyne, JaNiece and Justify. Her 4 great grandchildren; Nathaniel, Andrea Rosie, Ezra and Isla. Her mother; Amparo Apodoca Motta. Her sisters; Linda, Christine, Patricia, Eloise, Susan, Vera, Deanna, Anita and brother Peter. Frances also leaves behind her extended family members, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Palm Memorial - Kerman Chapel, 538 South Madera Avenue, Kerman, CA 93630, on September 10, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Rosary will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 15437 W Kearney Blvd, Kerman, CA 93630, on September 11, 2026, at 9:00 am, followed by Mass at 9:30 am.
Burial will take place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, 264 N Blythe Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
Pallbearers will be Augustine Hernandez, Ricardo Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, Salvador Flores, Estevan Flores, Phillip Colemero Jr., Robert Romeo Salazar, Nathaniel Jared Flores, Ross Hernandez, and Jacob Buck.
