James Milo Curbow, age 73, of Kerman, California passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. James was born May 6, 1947 to Velliria Curbow and Matthew Curbow. James was a US Navy Veteran who served in Vietnam. James was very active at Kerman Baptist Church and the Kerman Senior Center. He was known to be a killer poker player, and he enjoyed fishing, Western movies, listening to audio books and a good baseball game.
James grew up in Strathmore, California and he attended Strathmore schools where he was active in sports and music. After serving 8 years in the Navy, he attended college at National University and California State College San Bernardino, eventually earning two master’s degrees in social work and public administration. James was a Licensed Social Worker for San Bernardino County Child Protective Services and retired in 2001.
James is survived by his wife, Glenda Curbow, daughter Danielle Dynes (Tim), and sons Samuel Curbow (Kimberly), James Curbow; and John Curbow; brother Joseph Curbow (Edith) and sister Barbara Curbow-Carlberg (Bruce); 7 grandchildren, Regina Wilson, Sam Dynes, Jonathan Dynes, Christopher Dynes, Kaelin Dynes, Samuel Curbow, and Matthew Curbow; and one great grandchild Kyler Wilson.
James was preceded in death by father Matthew Curbow and mother Velliria Curbow; brothers Jerry Curbow and Robert Curbow.
A visitation for James will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Memorial - Kerman Chapel, 538 South Madera Avenue, Kerman, CA 93630.
A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 538 South Madera Avenue, Kerman, CA 93630.
A graveside service will occur Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322.
