Josefina Sanchez Gonzalez, 82, passed away on July 3, 2026. She was born on December 5, 1943, in Jalisco, Mexico, and resided in Raisin City, California. Josefina will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection for the steadfast loyalty she showed to those she loved and the steady, caring presence she brought to her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Josefina found meaning in the simple, enduring joys that turn a house into a home. She took pride in her garden and in the warmth of her cooking, offering comfort through meals prepared with care. She enjoyed shopping and traveling, and she especially loved the beach—drawn to its calm, its beauty, and the quiet restoration it offered. In quieter moments, her patience and focus shone through in crossword puzzles, as well as in the careful work of knitting, sewing, and creating with her hands.
Josefina also gave generously of her time and attention, and she loved to tutor kids—meeting them with encouragement, steadiness, and a belief in their ability to learn and grow. Above all, Josefina loved to spend time with family and friends, and her days were richest when shared with the people who mattered most to her.
Josefina was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 wonderful years, Jose Gonzalez. She is survived by her children: Patricia Bloodgood, Sylvia Marquez, Julia Lopez, Josefina Gonzalez, and Jose Gonzalez Jr. Josefina also leaves behind her 12 grandchildren and her 4 great grandchildren.
