Cheyenne Blue Matthews, known to family and friends as Chey, Chey, was born in Sturgis, South Dakota on September 29, 1996, the daughter of Sheila and Raymond Matthews. She enjoyed Motocross Racing and started when she was 6 years old. At the age of 10 she became a television Model for Black Cat Fireworks and also a Dolphin Trainer at Aquatica in Cancun Mexico. When she was 14 she won her first Women’s Division Motocross Championship. Cheyenne was Student of the Year in American History and Government at Pine Bluffs High School. She was awarded Leatt Athlete Award and won her second Women’s Division Motocross Championship at age 16. Chey Chey loved the outdoors. She hunted the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Snowy Mountains of Wyoming with her dad. They got their first Buffalo in the Colorado Rockies. She loved to fish, even for tiny trout in Brooklyn Lake at the base of the Snowy Peaks near Centennial. If friends or family were in distress, she would drop everything and run to our side. She was much of the sunshine in our dark world. We love you Cheyenne.
