David “Dave” L. Autrey, 65, of Kimball, NE, passed away on December 4, 2025, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church at 305 E 4th St in Kimball with Pastor Lorri Kentner officiating. Inurnment will be held later. Friends may visit www.cantrellfh.com to view Dave’s tribute wall and share stories and condolences with the family. Memorials may be given in Dave’s memory to the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, Nebraska Chapter #4 or Kimball Volunteer Fire Department. The services for Dave have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Dave was born on September 2, 1960, in Fairfield, IL to Grady and Viola Evelena (Grisamore) Autrey. He moved to Kimball at a young age and graduated from Kimball County High School in 1979. He married his wife of 42 years, Michelle “Chellie” Ann Autrey, on July 9, 1983, in Kimball. He was employed in the local community for his entire adult life, most recently as Parts Manager for Frank NAPA Auto Parts. He actively served for over 39 years in the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department. He was a passionate motorcyclist and member of Red Knights Motorcycle Club, Nebraska Chapter 4, and a fervent supporter of Nebraska Cornhuskers athletics. His most cherished experiences included vacationing with family and friends and supporting his grandchildren in youth activities. He was loved by many for his loyalty, tireless work ethic, selflessness, kindness, and contagious laugh.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Caroline.
Dave is survived by his wife Chellie; two children, son Jordan Autrey and wife Chelsie of Kimball, NE and daughter Kali Warshany and husband Keith of Alameda, CA; sisters Karen Gouty of Evansville, IN and Karla Biberos of Scottsbluff, NE; grandchildren Grady, Maylie, Dawson, and Everett, all of Kimball, NE and numerous nieces and nephews.
