Denise was born on June 6, 1941, in Newcastle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lt. Col. Robert E. and Clara (Ambroe) Hervey. From a young age, she lived closely with her parents and traveled with her family as her father served in the military. Born with disabilities that made independent living difficult, Denise’s life was defined not by limitations, but by the deep love, care, and devotion she shared with her family throughout the years.
The Hervey family eventually settled in San Angelo, Texas, where Denise enjoyed many happy decades. In 2008, she moved to Centennial, Colorado, to live with her brother and his wife, Robert II and Kathleen Hervey, who remained her loving caregivers and companions. In 2024, the family relocated to Sidney, Nebraska, where Denise resided at the time of her passing.
Denise lived a life filled with joy in simple pleasures and creative interests. She loved bowling and anything involving sewing, and she created countless crafts with her skilled hands. Coloring brought her peace and happiness, and she delighted in traveling, especially to Las Vegas, where she enjoyed playing the slots. An avid movie-watcher, Denise especially loved cartoons, which always made her smile.
Above all, Denise loved her family. She cherished her brother Robert, who dedicated his life to her care, and she adored her many nieces and nephews, who brought her endless happiness. She was also a devoted dog lover, sharing her days with her beloved pug, Ming Poo, and her sweet dog Foxy.
Denise touched many lives with her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love. She will be remembered forever by those who knew her.
