Ila J. Williams, 77, of Kimball, died at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Father Robert Karnish officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Dix Cemetery. Ila Joy Williams was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on May 4, 1937, the daughter of Reuben and Edna (Dunlap) Gunderson. She was raised and attended school in Cheyenne and graduated in 1955. She was married to Kenneth Williams on March 12, 1959. They lived in Hot Springs, South Dakota and Ila worked as a waitress for many years. She moved to Kimball in 1965 and worked at the Mustang Restaurant and Bar. She was later diagnosed with cancer, and that illness forced her to retire. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, arts and crafts and designing shirts and watching western movies.
Survivors include her sons Kenneth (Deb) Williams of Highlands Ranch, CO., and Kevin (Mary) Williams of Ashland, NE; daughter Norma (Frank) Stauffer of Banner County, NE; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her parents, sisters Virginia Hansen and Marjorie Gunderson, granddaughter Jessica Marie Janicek and great grandson Jaxson Graves preceded her in death.
