Jeanne Laboray, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Bushnell, Nebraska, on June 8, 2025. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Pastor Lorri Kentner officiating. Friends may visit www.cantrellfh.com to leave condolences and share stories with the family. Memorials may be given in her memory to Trinity United Methodist Church. The services for Jeanne have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Jeanne was born on June 16, 1949, in Pasco, Washington, to Clifton and June (Brown) Lee. She was raised by her loving father Clifton and stepmother Darla in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Jeanne graduated from C.E. Donart High School in 1967 in Stillwater, OK and lived in various states, including Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska. She was married to Lewis P. Laboray on December 23, 1983. Throughout her life, Jean was a vibrant member of her community. She was actively involved in the Red Hatters Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Mountain Man Association, where she crafted outfits for members.
Jeanne had a deep passion for creativity and generosity. She loved crocheting and was dedicated to Operation Christmas Child through her Methodist Church, making dolls to be sent worldwide. Her collection of nativity sets was cherished by her family and friends.
Jeanne was also a driving force behind the 25 Cent Store in Bushnell and Kimball, a project she initiated to help children afford gifts for their loved ones at Christmas. Jean and her husband, Lewis, were honored as the King and Queen of the Bushnell Parade in 2024, a testament to their beloved presence in the community, her many friends and family members will forever hold her in their hearts.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Lewis Laboray; children Scott Casler of Muskogee, OK., Katrina Ford of Lochbouie, CO., and Joe (Misty) Greene of Mooresville, IN; stepmother Darla; brother James (Norma) Lee of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters Sue, Lola and Ida; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, brother Harry and sister Terri. her many friends and family members who will forever hold her in their hearts.
