

Jerry Doyle Morris, 81, of Banner County passed away in his home June 9th, 2026 surrounded by his family. Cremation has been held and memorial services will be held at 10 am June 20, 2026 at the Happy Jack Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming with Pastor officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Jerry was born to Delmar and Clytie (Zongker) Morris on June 30th, 1944, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He attended Torrington High School in Torrington, Wyoming for his schooling. On February 16th, 1964 he married Minnie Mabel Bye in a ceremony in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. In the forty-five years of their marriage, it gave life to four children, ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
When Minnie passed away, he found love and happiness again with Judy Morris and on May 29th, 2016, in a church in Cheyenne, Wyoming they were married. From there in which he gained more children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to love and cherish.
Jerry lived his life to the fullest. He was a fire chief, mayor, a business owner, and so many other things. After his schooling, he went to work at J.W. Snyder Farms for many years. The family relocated to Morrill for a short time before settling in Lyman, Nebraska where he owned a mechanic shop and was the Fire chief and then the mayor for several years. He worked at Powertrain in Mitchell, Nebraska for a time. When the family moved to Banner County, he worked at Floyd's Truck Center for 20 years where he retired before starting Pack Rat Disposal with his sons and grandson. He spent the time expanding Pack Rat Disposal and making the business thrive alongside the help of his family.
He spent the slower years of his life focusing on his passion for restoring classic Mopar cars and trucks. He loved attending car shows, especially the Barrett-Jackson Auction. He also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Branson, Missouri and seeing his family that didn’t live close to home.
He is preceded in death by his father Delmar Morris, Mother Clytie Starkey, Stepfather Andrew (Jack) Starkey, his first wife Minnie, and his brother Delmar (Butch) Morris
He is survived by his wife Judy Morris, sister Marvel Hoff, half-sisters Marva Morris, Darla Hemminghaus, Mary Stocker and Half-brother Andrew (A.J.) Starkey. His children, Terry and Jeannia Morris of Harrisburg, NE, LaDawn and James Watts of Pine Bluffs, WY, Tadd Morris of Pine Bluffs, WY, Leann and Charles Fullam of Abilene, TX. His grandchildren, Jessica and Joe Weis, Sonia and Luke Christensen, Conrad and Ashley Morris, April Wright, James and Donna Watts, Autumn White, Erin and Josh Dukes, Cody Shepard and Rebecca Webster, Marissa and Xaviar Fullam-Messick, and Aaricka Fullam and Samuel McAllister. He is survived by his great-grandchildren Lila Rood, Tennysee Rood, Austin Christensen, Chase Christensen, Abigail Vargas, Mason Vargas, Emma Morris, Johnathan Johnston, Chloe Wright, Katie Wright, Caleb Wright, Chaisly Watts, Addyson Watts, Aspen Watts, Jacob White, Sebastian Webb, Beau Webb, Hunter White, Liah Dukes, Kiera Dukes, Miyah Dukes, and Cooper Dukes. He is survived by his great-great-grandchildren Solana and Drezak.
