We still have the sugar eggs that LaVeta made for our sons Sean, Michael and Tom Murphy, when we lived in Kimball. They are treasures. A more faithful servant of the Church will never be found.

LaVeta was one of a kind. I always enjoyed our visits together. From the house in Lawrence with the play room upstairs to her house in Kimball she was always smiling and had a kind word to say. I will always miss her.

What a friend to all, and most of all to Christ!
My mother Mary Lukassen was her friend and a helping hand by driving her to mass at St Joseph’s there in Kimball. They would check on each other via phone, and make sure each other was “up and running”. Once my mom fell, and had to rehab in Gering, I know LaVeta, missed her dearly. Since my mom passed away in August, I know they are once again prayer partners in heaven with the Almighty One .

I remember many days pestering her for freshly baked cookies. She never let me down. When mom couldn’t find me, it only took one phone call. Rest In Peace sweet lady.

LeVeta holds such a special place in the hearts of many people. Her kind and generous heart with her contagious smile and giggle will not be forgotten. I was lucky enough to spend many hours crafting sugar eggs with LeVeta. ❤️

Last September I was able to drive out to Kimball for a night. Aunt LaVeta’s house was spotless and her flowers beautiful. We sat and talked and the time flew by. When it was time to go to bed Aunt LaVeta followed me into my room tucked me in the same way my father and grandmother had done before. The tucked all the way around tucking in. Then she turned on the most beautiful Holy Family night light above my head and kissed me goodnight. She was 96 years old shouldn’t have been the other way around? No, she was full of energy snd life. I awoke to her up before me and I awake early. We then proceeded to watch Mass . It was just a wonderful visit!
