

Raymond E. Madden, 83, of Kimball, died at Kimball Health Services on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Pastor Thomas Hyde officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Raymond Edson Madden was born in Sidney, Nebraska on October 2, 1928, the son of Edson and Alice (Carlson) Madden. He was raised and attended school in Sidney and graduated from the Sidney High School in 1946. On March 9, 1947 he was married to Elaine Ells in Sidney. The couple made their home on the farm north of Bushnell and to this union Bruce, Terry and Tamara were born. Elaine preceded him in death in 1993. Ray loved the farm and enjoyed his life there. He also worked as an oilfield pumper for many years. He was married to Wanda Haug on August 23, 1997. After moving to Kimball he was still involved with the daily operation of the farm. He also sold Garst Seed until 2011. Ray was a 60 year member of the Bushnell Lions Club, he was a member of the Masons, Calvary United Methodist Church and the Banner County Pinochle Club. He loved reading and being at family gatherings with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Madden of Kimball, NE; children Bruce (Margie) Madden of Sycamore, IL., Terry Madden of Kimball, NE., and Tamara (Bob) Cochran of Pine Bluffs, WY; step children Mike (Shani) Haug of Scottsbluff, NE., Larry (Angela) Haug of Gering, NE., and Carla (Matt) Thurin of Pine Bluffs, WY; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elaine, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
