
Terry R. Jones, 82, of Kimball, died peacefully at his home in Kimball on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Cornerstone Community Church in Kimball with Pastors Randy Bohac and Alan Foutz officiating. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney following the service. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball. Terry Royden Jones was born on January 16th, 1944, in McCook, Nebraska, the son of James and Winifred (Smith) Jones. At an early age, Terry moved with his family to Sidney, Nebraska, where he grew up and graduated from Sidney High School in 1962. Following his graduation, Terry served in the Army National Guard.
His professional journey began at National Tank in Sidney, followed by roles at Egging Cab Company. Terry was married to Vera Loebe on October 18th, 1968, in Sidney. He then worked for Panhandle Supply until going to work for the Cheyenne Pipeline in Sidney from 1973 to around 1980 and then worked for Marathon Oil Company in Sidney. They lived and raised their family in Sidney until 1989 when Terry was transferred to Cody, Wyoming with Marathon Oil. Following his retirement from Marathon, Terry enjoyed working at Basin Mechanical in Cody, Wyoming, which he considered one of his favorite jobs. A man of many passions, Terry loved camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was also a dedicated member of the Elks Club for over 55 years.
Survivors include his wife Vera Jones of Kimball, NE; sons Keith (Melissa) Jones of Kimball, NE., Brian (Heather) Jones of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren Brittany Kuhns, Brooke Banzhaf, Brianna Matthes, Brady Jones and Isabelle Jones; great grandchildren Noah, Chase, Brinlea, Teagan, Quinn, Reese, Landon and Weston. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Donald Jones,
Terry will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication, and his love for family and community.
