Our family will always remember Leon who befriended my son when he was in the 5th grade. We visited the Veteran's museum and he showed Nick his jeep. From then on, they became buddies, and Leon would visit our home, take Nick to military events, and exchange Christmas cards. He even attended Nick's graduation from High School. Our condolences to your family.

Leon, my friend, we will all miss you. Jackie, Shawna, and myself. I know you were a man of faith, and I'm sure God has a special place for you.

Dear Hendrick family, I am so sorry to hear of Leon's passing. My grandson Jake and I met Leon at the Museum about eight years ago. He and my grandson instantly bonded. Every time we went to the Museum it was with the hope that the jeep would be there and we would have a chance to talk and learn from Leon.
Leon was so gracious as to share his personal memorabilia, experiences and knowledge with us.
We have missed him the past few years and will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you Leon for being such a huge part of Jake's childhood memories and thanks for all that you taught me.

One of my favorite people in the whole world. Shannon, Lizzie, and Bridget will miss those rides in his refurbished jeep. I'll miss the practical jokes he liked to play on the neighbors, as well as his riding academy and laundry service. Fortunately he won't need to follow a map to get to his next destination. My heart goes out to Sandy, Bruce, Lance, Brian and everyone else who knew him.
