I am so sorry to learn of Patsy's recent death. I worked for her and her then-husband Howard Coffin in the late 1970's at their advertising agency Fanfare Communications in Philadelphia. She was a great person and boss. It was partly my experience working for her, Howard, and their other partner, Ellen Solms, that gave me the courage to believe in myself enough to go to law school. They created a caring atmosphere at the office that made everyone feel valued and capable. Without them I might have stayed a secretary forever. I don't think I ever really told her what a big influence she had on me by setting an example of a successful self-employed businesswoman, something that was still rare in the 70's. Dean and Sidney, you had a wonderful mom.
