I was the kid at the crossroads Bruce mentored and taught me judo . He told me many stories about the war and how he was a bayonet and hand to hand combat instructor In The
Military. I remembered stepping on his toe and breaking it. He flick back into place taped it and kept on practicing, he taught his son judo also. I remember he was a purple belt, I believe he also won on the senior Olympic team in judo, he was an awesome man.

I am proud to say that I served on the Clearwater Township Board with Bruce for many years. Bruce was always an asset to the community and kept the best interest of his constituents at heart always. Bruce fought hard for many years with illness but never let it get in the way of him serving the public and doing his duty. I am going to miss you Bruce, just knowing you are not there at your home and in the community saddens me, thanks for being you.
